Larry Stalcup
Larry was born and raised in south central Oklahoma. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971, he attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a BA in Journalism in 1975. After graduation, he and his wife, Debby, moved to Amarillo, where he worked at the Amarillo Globe-News as agribusiness editor. From there, his career carried him to a public relations position with McCormick Co., an Amarillo advertising and PR agency.
In 1987, he started his own PR/writing business, concentrating mainly on crop and cattle production and marketing. In the early days of desktop publishing, he worked with feed yards and other businesses to produce brochures and other marketing materials. But AG writing and photography have been his passion. Larry has written for virtually every major crop or cattle publication in the country. Now semi-retired, most of his cattle articles appear in CALF News, a print and online magazine. His crops reporting is mainly for Farm Journal/Ag Fax, where he writes a weekly online southwest cotton newsletter during the growing season.
For several years, he produced a quarterly magazine for the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. That position put him in closer contact with local firefighters and law enforcement officials. He joined the 100 Club a few years after it was formed in 2004 and was elected to its Board of Directors in 2014. Like other board members, he mourns for the families of first responders who lose their lives or are injured while on the job. Larry has seen the gratitude shown by grieving family members when the 100 Club present them with a large monetary benefit to help get them through the financial stresses they face with the loss of their loved one.
Larry and Debby have one son, Dane, a college professor in New York City.
Dean Sather
Dean Sather has been in the auto industry for 33 years, 28 of which have been in Amarillo. He owns Cross Pointe Auto on Georgia. As a businessman, he has received the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics twice locally, and once internationally.
Dean has been married to his wife, Jennifer, for 33 years. Together, they have two beautiful daughters.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, shooting sports, instructing and competing in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. He is also a licensed pilot and loves to fly. He signed up through Coffee Memorial Blood Center for Flights for Life and was able to fly the very first lifesaving unit of blood to Oklahoma.
Dean is passionate about serving his community and supporting our local law enforcement and firefighters.
Brian Fleming
Brian Fleming is the Manager of Facilities and Global Site Support for Bell Textron Inc. (“Bell”) with oversight to Bell’s Amarillo Assembly Center along with facilities in Singapore, Czech Republic, and England. Brian has been with Bell for three years and brings many years of Amarillo employment and community involvement to his current role. He is a firm believer in the adage that “if serving is beneath you, leading is beyond you.”
Brian grew up farming in Pampa, Texas and moved to the Amarillo area to attend West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M University) where he holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Tech and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Brian worked for United Parcel Service through college and started employment with Southwestern Public Service Company (now Xcel Energy) as an apprentice electrician upon graduation. In his 25 years at Xcel Energy, he worked in several areas including Regulatory & Governmental Affairs and Resource Planning. He left Xcel Energy to try his luck away from “the corporate world” and oversee construction for several commercial development projects in Amarillo and Midland. After a global pandemic stifled future development projects starting in 2020, a corporate position at Bell was too good to pass up.
When Brian is not supporting Bell, he enjoys hunting, sporting clays, and cursing at golf balls. Additionally, he is a Real Estate agent, Journeyman Electrician, and was once dared into (and successfully completed) a marathon.
Brian is heavily involved in the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle supporting first responders and Emi’s Colorful Future Foundation benefiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
